Book tastes

My tastes are really very broad, and I will happily read almost all kinds of genres and subject matter. Science fiction/fantasy and science-y non-fiction are particular favorites, but mostly I just encourage you to pick out books you personally think are good, regardless of category.

Don't get this!

I've never been able to get into the romance genre, so that's the one category that is probably best avoided. Books about sports are also a bad idea. I'd prefer not to get books about religion unless they're from my wishlist, anything that could be categorized as "Christian fiction," or anything involving New Age-y ideas or alternative medicine, unless from a skeptical point of view. And while I have a bunch of Star Trek books in my catalog, I'm not reading those much these days, so they're probably not a great choice. (I'm still very much into the Doctor Who books, though!)

Other notes

Every book I own is in my "Your Library" collection, so if you don't see it there, that means I don't already have it. I also have a ridiculously extensive wishlist. Feel free to pick stuff from there if you like, but you are certainly not required to.
