Book tastes

I'm trying to get back to my "basics" in 2024 and read more Sci-fi/fantasy, and comic books. My LibraryThing collection is all books I own. I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman, anything Cthulhu-esque, fiction with a lot of philosophy... I like existentialism and absurd humor, situationist art, stuff that's very city-oriented, mysteries, puzzles, secret societies and cults... I like great world building and characters that are likable. There are definitely some real classics in my fave genres - sci-fi, horror, fantasy - that I've never read. My favorite comics are Love and Rockets (Mechanics storyline), Strangers in Paradise, Sandman and spinoffs, Hicksville, Grickle, Lucifer, Watchmen, Y the Last Man. I used to be a big X-Men reader but haven't followed any storylines in over 10 years. I rarely review books here on LibraryThing but I do on goodreads - https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/742074-megan

Don't get this!

Uh, anything I already own? Hm. I don't usually love popular "literary" fiction - I often find it a bit boring. I'm always embarrassed to read, like, Oprah book club type books, even if I know some are truly outstanding.

Other notes

I don't care much about format - hardcovers or paperbacks. I dislike stickers or plastic sheet covers or anything extraneous on my books.
