Book tastes

I am drawn to books set in other countries/cultures, historical fiction, science/nature/anthropology, YA, science fiction/fantasy, social issues, personal development. Current interests: Buddhist philosophy, chronic illness/pain, writing.
Just finished reading: The Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
Currently reading: Let Us Descend by Jesmyn Ward
My LibraryThing library is not up-to-date (will try to get there but might be safer to consider one of the books below):
---------------------------------------------------
High on my list are books about the natural world:
- The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate by Peter Wohlleben (very much coveting this one)
- The Anthropocene Reviewed: Essays on a Human-Centered Planet by John Green
- The Lost Spells Hardcover by Robert Macfarlane
- Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds & Shape Our Futures by Merlin Sheldrake
- Owls and Other Fantasies: Poems and Essays by Mary Oliver
- Tell Me A Dragon Hardcover by Jackie Morris
- Forest Bathing: How Trees Can Help You Find Health and Happiness Hardcover by Dr. Qing L
- Your Guide to Forest Bathing by M. Amos Clifford
- Gathering Moss: A Natural and Cultural History of Mosses by Robin Wall Kimmerer
- Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
-------------------------------------------------------
Since I live with chronic illness, these are also great options:
- Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier by Arthur C. Brooks & Oprah Winfrey (first on my wishlist)
- From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life by Arthur C. Brooks
- Together: The Healing Power of Human Connection in a Sometimes Lonely World by Vivek H Murthy M.D
- How to Be Sick: A Buddhist-Inspired Guide for the Chronically Ill and Their Caregivers Paperback by Toni Bernhard
- Prevent And Reverse Heart Disease: The Revolutionary, Scientifically Proven, Nutrition-Based Cure Paperback by Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr.
- Healing Fibroids: A Doctor's Guide to a Natural Cure by Allan Warshowsky
- Buddha's Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love, and Wisdom by Rick Hanson, Richard Mendius
----------------------------------------------------------
Because I write and have begun teaching writing:
- On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King
- The Describer's Dictionary: A Treasury of Terms & Literary Quotations by David Gramb, Ellen S. Levine
- The Emotion Thesaurus: A Writer's Guide to Character Expression (Second Edition) by Becca Puglisi, Angela Ackerman
-------------------------------------------------------------
A book I am intrigued by:
- Emily Wildes Encyclopaedia of Faeries Emily Wilde by Heather Fawcett

Don't get this!

romance, magical realism, mystery/noir, true crime, sports, graphic novels/manga
No used books please (I have OCD) but if its tricky to manage the budget, you might consider that I have 4 young nephews (between ages 5-10) that I would be happy to share a kids book with :)

Other notes

If there's a book that changed your life... :)
